Support access to reproductive healthcare in Virginia

The Virginia House of Delegates Labor and Commerce Committee is debating the Reproductive Health Equity Act to secure reproductive health care services for all people. Email your Delegate and demand they support HB1922!

When HB1922 comes for a vote in the House of Delegates Labor and Commerce Committee,  I'm asking you to vote YES in support of quality reproductive healthcare for everyone, regardless of income, immigration status, gender identity, or type of insurance.

Access to reproductive health care is critical for the health and economic security of all Virginians. The Reproductive Health Equity Act would establish comprehensive insurance coverage for the full spectrum of reproductive health services, including family planning, abortion, and postpartum care, for all Virginians.

The Reproductive Health Equity Act:

• Requires all commercial plans to abide by the ACA provision that prohibits insurers from imposing co-pays, deductibles, or coinsurance on preventive reproductive health services.
• Ensures the right to safe and legal abortion in Virginia, which is particularly important given the uncertain future of Roe v. Wade.
• Establishes insurance coverage for the full range of reproductive health care, including family planning, abortion, and postpartum care for all Virginians, including those who are categorically excluded from health programs due to citizenship status.
• Prohibits discrimination on the basis of gender identity, in reproductive health coverage so that everyone, including people who are trans or non-binary, can access the reproductive health care they need.

We need to come together across our differences to pass the Reproductive Health Equity Act so that everyone can make decisions about what their family looks like for themselves. I urge you to support HB1922.
